 Engineering STACKER & RECLAIMER
maintenance

Since 20212, Qeqesha represented Sandvik and FLSchmidt as their preferred
Engineering Service provider on Stackers, Reclaimers and Discard Stackers. We
provide turn-key engineering services, encompassing all engineering disciplines
through Mechanical, Electrical and Structural maintenance.

Luff- Cylinder exchanges

Qeqesha have changed out 28 luff-cylinders on different stacker and reclaimer machine models to date without any incident.

Bucket Wheel exchanges

Qeqesha have changed out 18 bucket wheels on different reclaimer models to date without any incident.

Bogey-Wheel exchanges

Qeqesha have changed out 2 slew bearings on different reclaimer models to date without any incident. This task is the highest risk task on any of this machinery, due to the machine being split in two, to remove and to re-install the slew bearing.

Slew-bearing exchanges

Maintenance Projects

Khumani Iron Ore: Qeqesha managed a 5-year maintenance contract on Khumani Iron Ore, covering 14 Sandvik stacker and reclaimers, on the mines ROM and Load Out area. (2015-2020). We represented Sandvik, then FLSchmidt until their contract ended. FLSchmidt withdrew from the materials handling market, and Qeqesha did not have a Vendor with Assmang Iron Ore, resulting in us withdrawing from site.

Planned Maintenance / Shutdowns

Qeqesha engineering have extensive experience and knowledge on the replacement of major components found on stackers and reclaimers. The replacement of these components is associated with high-risk activities and are therefore not recommended to be executed by individuals with little or no experience.
